The blockbuster MMORPG Legend of YMIR, published by Wemade and developed by Wemade XR, has been honored with the “Game of the Month” award for the second half of 2025 in the General Games (Blockbuster) category.

Hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), the “Game of the Month” program has celebrated excellence in Korean game development since 1997, now marking its 29th year. Winners are selected through a combination of player votes (20%) and expert evaluations (80%), recognizing creativity, technical achievement, and player engagement.

Following its domestic launch on February 20, 2025, Legend of YMIR quickly rose to #1 on both major app store popularity charts and secured the top spot on Google Play’s top-grossing list. Set against the backdrop of Ragnarok from Norse mythology, the game captivates players with its high-fidelity Unreal Engine 5 visuals, dynamic large-scale field battles, and deep narrative immersion, earning widespread acclaim from MMORPG fans.

In addition to its cinematic presentation, Legend of YMIR incorporates blockchain technology to establish a transparent and player-driven economy. The game limits the issuance of crafting currencies to preserve item value and introduces Non-Fungible Items (NFIs) for top-tier equipment, with visible creation and transaction records to enhance transparency.

The integration of seasonal content and a governance system also empowers players to take part in reward structures and server operations, further deepening engagement within the game world.
