WEMIX CHAMPIONSHIP 2023, which is being held after the regular season of Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA), has become a tournament with the highest prize money due to the increase in the value of WEMIX.

Wemade announced on the 22nd that all of the top 20 players who qualify for “WEMIX CHAMPIONSHIP 2023” based on WEMIX Point rankings have completed their application for participation in the competition. The list of 20 players includes many players who shined in the 2023 season of the KLPGA Tour, such as Yewon Lee, Jin Hee Lim, Hyun Kyung Park, Jiyoung Park, You Min Hwang, and Shin Sil Bang, showing a lineup that tops off the last championship competition.

In addition, Wemade plans to prioritize the players with the highest WEMIX Points when selecting the four recommended players. Top four players from the WEMIX Point rankings as of November 12, which reflect the results of the “SK Shielders·SK Telecom Championship 2023” competition, the final match of the KLPGA Tour, will be given wildcards. This is very positive news for top-ranked players who were unable to secure a spot.

In contrast to the previous cases where the players were recommended by tournament organizers or affiliated companies, the method of using wildcards has raised the status of the tournament even more.

The total prize money for the “WEMIX CHAMPIONSHIP 2023” tournament is 1 million WEMIX (WEMIX cryptocurrency), which is worth over 1.6 billion won based on Coinone’s WEMIX market price on November 1st. This is equivalent to the prize money for major tournaments on the KLPGA Tour. Currently, the KLPGA Tour’s biggest prize money competition is “Hanwha Classic 2023” with a total prize money of 1.7 billion won.

As there are still 17 days left until the competition, if WEMIX’s value continues to increase, the total prize money may exceed the KLPGA Tour’s largest prize money competition.

This tournament will be held at Haeundae Beach Golf & Resort in Busan from November 18th to 19th and will be played in two formats: single match play and stroke play. On the first day, the top 12 WEMIX Points players will play against bottom 12 players in a single match play format. On the second day, the winners and losers of the first day’s match play will be divided into Final A and Final B. After a stroke play, the winner of Final A will become the final champion.

1st to 12th place will be determined from Final A group, and 13th to 24th place will be determined from Final B group.
